The HABITER2030 mini series of MPP#3 opens with the testimony of Justine and Antoine, Master’s students at Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture et de Paysage de Lille. They share their experience in the 3rd edition of the Méta Plateau Projet. As a reminder, the mini series consists of interview portraits with student participants of the Méta Plateau Projets.
Justine and Antoine worked on innovative solutions for renovating mining buildings situated on the site of the Vanneaux farm in Roost-Warendin as part of a team composed of students from INSA Hauts-de-France, Arts et Métiers ParisTech – École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers de Lille, and their peers at Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture et de Paysage de Lille
In this capsule video, they explain:
✅ That the MPP#3 allowed them to share about their profession and learn about others, to learn to communicate and interact with people in other specialties
✅ That the “out of the box” method allowed them, from the beginning, to question how and when to intervene in the project based on their skills
✅ That they learned about certain subjects previously unfamiliar to them, like building diagnostics which can reveal the presence or absence of asbestos
✅ That the approach they used was one of prefab architecture with wood panels and assembly workshops at the participatory worksite which focus on participatory projects on a human scale
✅ That they chose to use textile insulation such as métisse, or natural insulation such as straw for built extensions
✅That understanding the social framework and the expectations of the inhabitants is essential.
This work will serve as the basis for the European Interreg Circular Trust Building project in the context of workshops and demonstrations.
